The Guidance services are available to all students. The variety of services provided by the guidance department is intended to help the the student make the most of his/her educational opportunities. The guidance department maintains a career center of occupational and educational information. Students are encouraged to consult with their counselors to obtain informational materials in making educational and occupational decisions.

One of the major functions of the counselors is helping students anticipate and cope with the world around them. Counselors will not make decisions for students but will assist them to make reality-oriented decisions. To contact the guidance department (978) 671-3611/3613

The fundamental goal of Education Reform in Massachusetts is to improve students' academic performance. The development of the high academic standards described in the Curriculum Frameworks was a step toward accomplishing that goal; the implementation of MCAS represents the next important step in the process. The Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and MCAS together create a statewide system designed to support students, parents, teachers, and schools by uniformly promoting high academic standards for all public school students of the Commonwealth.

Co-op

As a senior, you can participate in our cooperative education program, which allows eligible seniors to work-for pay-in the field for which they have been trained. They are paid by their employer and work during the weeks they are normally in their accupational program, returning to school alternative weeks for academic classes. Students gain valuable, specific experience about an employer and the world of work, and receive both a paycheck and a grade while they learn. Many Co-op jobs lead to full time employment after graduation.
